From now until September 7th, the BHS is running two cat & kitten adoption specials.
1) All cats/kittens are $15.00 each – and
2) if you adopt one, you can adopt a second one free!
If you’ve been thinking of adding a feline companion (or two or more) to your home, now is a great time to do so!
To assist those less fortunate and their dogs, the Bahamas Humane Society is providing free distemper vaccines at two clinics: Tuesday, August 26, at Our Lady’s Catholic Church on Deveaux Street and Wednesday, August 27, in the BHS parking lot in Chippingham.
We invite you to participate in the Bahamas Humane Society’s fifth annual Summer Fun Photography Contest, sponsored by Mr. Photo and Bahamas Local. People of all ages can enjoy this fun event, and there are wonderful subjects to select from. Contest ends Friday, September 12th, 2014
Huge THANKS to the folks at Humane Society International for their fast and effective response, helping BHS stay out in front of the distemper outbreak here in Nassau. The BHS has already conducted two emergency vaccine clinics. Number three is tomorrow, Wednesday, August 6th from noon to 7pm at the Carmichael Primary School, Carmichael Road.
The Bahamas Humane Society is having a bake sale on Saturday, July 19th @ VENETIAN West (behind Fresh Market at Old Fort) at their Open House from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

– Friday, June 13th is our 90th Anniversary Gala Evening at Government House.

March 17th is St. Patrick’s Day and the BHS will be celebrating the Luck of the Irish with a week of St. Paw-trick’s adoption specials. All dog and cat adoptions will be $10.00 with all puppy and kitten adoptions at $20.00.
The BHS will be at the Bahamas Kennel Club Dog Show on Saturday, March 15th and Sunday, March 16th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. both days. Come out to the BFS grounds on Gladstone Road to see us!
Bring your dogs and the whole family out to the Botanical Gardens on Sunday 16 February for a day of animal fun. Enter in the fun dog show (tentative class list below), eat great food, play games and catch up with friends and support the Bahamas Humane Society
