Government house sparkled in the warm winter sky as the guests arrived for theLombard Odier Darier Hentsch, B-Humane Banner evening at the home of His Excellency Sir Arthur Foulkes and Lady Foulkes… The beautiful banners sporting remarkable pictures by animal and nature photographer Patricia Vazquez, fluttered in the breeze…Bars were set up on the south terrace and in the gardens, and various food stations serving pasta with various vegetarian sauces, a carvery with rolls and condiments, an hors d’oeuvres station with delicacies such as stuffed mushrooms, crab cakes, chicken in a peanut sauce, and cheese and fruit platters…and to end it all there was a simply remarkable crepe station, flambé desert crepes cooked to order… an absolutely wonderful evening, and sold out several days before the event.President Kim Aranha made a few remarks thanking Sit Arthur and Lady Foulkes for opening up their home to the B-Humane banner launch and said how proud the BHS is to have him as our Patron. Mrs. Aranha also challenged the general public to join her on a crusade against cruelty across the Bahamas…The Royal Bahamas Police Force band played fantastic music and many of the guests ended the evening dancing under the stars.The BHS is so grateful to Swiss bank: Lombard Odier Darier Hentsch, for funding the evening, and the banners…Thanks to their generosity the BHS was able to raise in excess of $14,000.00 and hopefully a large amount of awareness by displaying the posters with the beautiful photos and many quotes and slogans to encourage people to exercise more kindness toward animals.
